The 29-year-old recently stated that he would be willing to discuss his future after the end of the season. Now that it has come, there have been reports that he may be set for a move away from the club in order to get a new challenge. His agent, Claudia Pastorello, says that Handanovic may actually stay at the San Siro next season despite reports constantly linking him with a move abroad. The players still has only two years left on his contract, but next season will be critical for the club because the player will have only one year left.
Pastorello has admitted that it will be very difficult to see what will happen with regard to his client’s future.
“Samir is now very happy with his situation at Inter. He has two more years left on his contract, and can’t imagine leaving Inter at this moment. Normally, what will happen is that with one year left you would sit down with the club and come to some sort of arrangement. Right now though, it’s too early to say what will happen,” said the agent. Handanovic could play a key role for the Slovenian national team as they prepare to reach the Euro 2016 finals. The qualification campaign will begin shortly for this tournament.
