The Slovenian national side made a jump in the April FIFA rankings by one position as the team of SrečkoKatanec is now positioned at the 47th spot but even though the side of Katanec are riding high, things might not be as great when they face off with England in their upcoming 2016 Euro’s qualifying match which is scheduled to take place on June 14 of the ongoing year.
In order for the team of SrečkoKatanec to secure a spot in the next rounds of the 2016 Euro’s they will have to gain more points as they have a total of 9 points but this isn’t enough as Switzerland has the same amount of points.
The next 2016 Euro’s qualification match of Slovenia is against England and these teams have already faced off back in November of 2014 which resulted in a 3-1 triumph for the English side. Katanec will not be able to utilize the services of Fiorentina’sJosipIIcicas the player announced his retirement from performing in the international last year which will be a big blow for the Slovenian team.
England on the other hand is going through a recovery process as Roy Hodgson is trying to get the team back on their feet after having been knocked out of the 2014 World Cup with 0 losses being secured in the group stages as they only suffered losses against Italy and Uruguay.
This recovery of the English side is going surprisingly well as England is at the top of Group E and are one of the few national sides which remain undefeated so far in these stages of the 2016 Euro’s. Roy Hodgson wants to continue this fine form and will be giving it their all against Slovenia.
